Blister Packs

By now ubiquitous for displaying articles on shelves, blister packs are the combination of a transparent plastic shell and cardboard printed with advertising. They can be differentiated by the various ways of sealing or closing them on the cardboard:

  • Blisters thermowelded to cardboard pretreated with a special glue. The majority of blisters on the market have a slot on the top, centered over the center of gravity of the product, for a perfect display.

  • Blisters welded at high frequency. They generally have a thermoformed front and flat back; during packaging, it is possible to insert a piece of cardboard with advertising or, if necessary, an instruction booklet. They are ideal for large distribution because they object is fully visible but can't be removed from the package.

  • Sliding Blisters. They differ from the others because the cardboard slides into two or three folds on the back, allowing products to be packaged without machinery. This solution is suitable for direct sales in stores because the merchant can open the package to show the customer the product and then repackage it without damaging or breaking the packaging.
